The first annual National Princess Week will launch on April 22, 2012. Legendary actress, signer and children’s author Julie Andrews, along with the Walt Disney Company and Target bring us this week-long event. This whimsical event celebrates the grace, beauty and imagination of every princess, whether real, aspiring or imaginary.
Target and will offer a plethora Disney Princess merchandise ranging from apparel to books and toys and much more. So every aspiring princess can look the part with their Ariel backpack or Cinderella sweater. The event also celebrates the 10th anniversary of Ms. Andrews’ film, “The Princess Diaries,” co-starring Anne Hathaway. Don’t miss the collectable two-pack with “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” available for the very first time on Disney Blu-Ray. The event also brings us the newest book in the New York Times best-selling “The Very Fairy Princess” children’s franchise, “The Very Fairy Princess Here Comes the Flower Girl!” co-authored by Julie’s daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton and published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.
The radiant Ms. Andrews will be honored with the prestigious Prince Rainier III Award for her outstanding contributions to the arts during the Princess Grace Awards Gala on November 1st, in New York City. The award honors not only her contributions to the arts but her generous humanitarian efforts as well. She will be awarded a $25,000 grant to benefit selected charities benefiting children.
