No matter what the palace may say officially about Kate Middleton’s topless photos scandal, the Duchess of Cambridge still fears that she has disgraced herself in the eyes of Queen Elizabeth II. Coming so soon after Prince Harry’s naked drunken debauchery was displayed for the entire world to mock, the poor Queen was hardly prepared for this even greater scandal. The palace, under the auspices of Prince William and Kate, pursued legal recourse against France’s Closer Magazine and their claims have so far been validated. Of course we all know that Closer was the first to published the novel photos of a topless, and almost bottomless, Kate. In fact French police raided Closer’s offices in pursuit of the identity of the enterprising paparazzo who snapped the popular pics.
Despite this display of Royal rage against what the palace choose to term an invasion of privacy, the fact of the matter is that if Kate had kept her clothing on there would be no scandal. She knows this, William knows this, and so does the Queen… While it might be all fine and dandy for regular folks to sunbathe topless in the assumed privacy of their Chateau, there is no way that Queen Elizabeth and other senior royals find it acceptable behavior for the future Queen of England. Despite this underlying attitude of disapproval towards the unfortunate incident the Queen recognizes that Kate has by and large done a stunning job of helping the monarchy regain popular approval. So Elizabeth, on her own, would like to forgive and forget (especially forget!) but the Queen is NOT on her own. Her majesty has Kate’s sworn enemy, Camilla Parker-Bowles, screaming that her rival’s behavior proves that Prince William’s wife is clearly nothing but a commoner and should never be Queen!
GLOBE reports in the October 1st Print Edition that an already mortified Kate broke down in tears after Camilla launched a blistering attack upon her. An insider claims that a tipsy Camilla hollered at Kate over the phone: “You’ve just proved you’re nothing but a commoner! Her Majesty will never forgive you. Now you’ll NEVER be Queen!”
Once cruel Camilla had Kate in tears she added, “At last you’ve proven everything I’ve been saying. You’re just a commoner who doesn’t know how to act properly.”
But Camilla wasn’t done yet! She went in for kill by telling the blubbering Kate that she was “just like Diana, she couldn’t conduct herself in a regal manner either.”
Imagine that insult coming from Camilla? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Camilla had a massively scandalous affair with Prince Charles while he was still married to Princess Diana! But Camilla’s arrogance knows no bounds and you can be certain that Kate hasn’t heard the last of those hurtful ‘commoner’ remarks from her awful mother-in-law.
Will Kate’s reputation and popularity suffer as a result of having her bare breasts viewed by the entire planet? Could the scandal make her even more popular? Will the royal enterprise recover from the two recent scandals which prove that they are no better and no different than the rest of us, maybe even worse? My guess is that if the Brits kept the useless and expensive royals alive through the scandal plagued Charles and Di era, then these latest hiccups won’t bury them.
