Katy Perry has finally seemed to do it all! She’s sang, she’s danced, she’s donned outrageous outfits, she’s definitely had electrifying hair and makeup – and now…she’s a mermaid!
Katy, 26, is in a new ad posing as a mermaid for her new campaign GHD Air hair dryers. She posed for famous photographer David LaChapelle and the two did wonders creating a magical world underwater (well, not really ‘underwater’ but it sure looks like it). Katy’s purple locks flow from her face, and she is surrounded by sparkly, shimmery fabrics that create an iridescent feel.
Katy said this about the shoot: “David LaChapelle made the set amazing, it was fun – I got to have purple hair which foreshadowed the real purple hair I had last fall. It’s as if Lisa Frank had done The Little Mermaid.”
The Little Mermaid indeed – and who wouldn’t want to be a mermaid for a day? GHD dryers promise “the best results of any hair dryer on the market.” That’s a pretty bold statement…but if it makes me have mermaid hair for a day, I’ll give it a go.
