Kelly Clarkson, ever since her hit “Since U Been Gone,” has been known for her angsty ways and all around badass attitude. But now that the singer has found herself a man and *gasp* some happiness, the pop star seems to be suffering from an awful bout of writer’s block, which is — let’s face it — never a good thing for an artist.
Clarkson told People Magazine that all this warm fuzziness “is killing [her].” These singers are never satisfied, are they? First they sing about how they’re so sad and want love, and then they find happiness and start complaining. Sheesh!
“I’m trying to write a tough song and it is coming out like butterflies and rainbows,” she says. “It is ruining my creativity. I’m writing all this happy [stuff].”
Clarkson is currently in a relationship with Brandon Blackstock, who is a talent manager based in Nashville. They seem like a perfect couple and, with all of this happiness and general good fortune sparking between them, maybe they’ll actually last . . . .
“People used to ask, ‘Why are you single?’ and I’d say, ‘It is not in my schedule,’ ” Clarkson told the magazine. “I’m in a relationship right now and I have time for it. I never used to [. . . .] People are going to be, like, ‘What the hell happened to you’?It has been really difficult. I love it. It’s an awesome problem to have.”
We’re hoping that Good-Happy-Happy Kelly keeps Dark-Sad Kelly at bay for a little while. You better watch it though, Kelly, with all this sunshine in your life you might just be on your way to becoming Natasha Bedingfield. And, while I love my girl Natasha, I don’t think you want that.
Stay smiley, Kelly. Here’s a happy HUG for you filled with warmth and love.
