Rosie O’Donnell is like a dog with a bone and just won’t let up on Lindsay Lohan. She took to the Today Show again this morning to respond to backlash that surfaced when she spoke out about the penal-prone star earlier in the week. She said Lohan wasn’t “capable” of playing Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime movie.
She managed not to use the word “crackhead” today but still, poignantly enough, decreed that Lohan should take a timeout from “the ruthless Hollywood machine.”
That’s not so bad, right? She even managed to say Lindsay was “quite talented.”
But then she compared the 25-year-old star to Whitney Houston, who only weeks ago was found naked and face-down dead in her tub, pumped full of cocaine and marijuana. Thanks a bunch Rosie.
But the ex-talk show host says she feels obligated to speak out.
“Watching Whitney Houston’s funeral I remember thinking, ‘Why didn’t more people say what they knew?’ We all knew.”
This comes at the heels of CDL reporting that Lindsay spent last night “out on the town” and showed up late for her guest appearance on Glee.
It’s easy to rip on Rosie. She’s loud and, obviously, unapologetic. But really, is she saying anything we’re not thinking?
Lindsay Lohan should be thanking Rosie O’Donnell. No one has used the words “Lindsay”, “actor” and “talented” in the same sentence in a long time on national television. True, Rosie also compared her to Houston. But hey, no press is bad press right?
