The time has come and the winner of Dancing With The Stars All-Star are Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani! The 15th season of Dancing with the Stars arrived with much fanfare. It was touted as one of the biggest seasons in the history of the campy and glitzy series, as 12 previously popular couples from the series were chosen to duke it out on the dancing stage. A 13th couple (unlucky 13 it turned out to be) was decided by public vote, and Sabrina Bryan was chosen over Carson Kressley and Kyle Massey.
The season’s first victim was Pamela Anderson, who scored an extremely low 17.0 points during the first week of the competition. The other low scorers quickly followed suit, as Joey Fatone, Helio Castroneves, and Drew Lachey fell during the second and third week respectively. The lowest scorer and most hated of them all, Bristol Palin, survived until the 4th week of the competition at the expense of above average dancers. The biggest surprise of all, however, came in the form of Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel’s elimination during the 6th week elimination episode. They scored some of the best points of the season, and received the highest score during their combined 5th and 6th week of dancing. The 13th couple stayed true to their superstition when they were kicked out prematurely just past the halfway point of the season.
The 8th week of elimination saw two more celebrities take the fall – Giles Marini and the super popular Kirstie Alley. And, finally, the penultimate week of competition saw Apolo Ohno and Emmitt Smith lose out on the super important finale. However, three of the most popular celebrities of the season remained to dance their faces off in the finale – Kelly Monaco, Shawn Johnson, and Melissa Rycroft.
The blood, sweat, and tears were worth it, because one of these couples walked away as the winner of DWTS’ biggest season yet. After the judges’ scores were tallied, the public vote was accounted for, and the couples were given a healthy dose of Xanax, we are able to officially announce who won the biggest season of the DWTS series.
The winning couple, the ultimate All-Star, the campiest of them all… Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani!
