Michael Douglas’ Son, Cameron Douglas, Victim of Mob Hit Beating While Doing Hard Time in Prison

Cameron Douglas is once again learning that his last name and hid family’s wealth don’t mean anything behind bars. A rat is a rat and snitches get stitches. The son of Oscar winning Michael Douglas was reportedly beat up in prison after a bounty was placed on his head.

The younger Douglas suffered a broken leg and finger after a New York mobster put a $100 hit on him, offering the reward to anyone who would teach Cameron a painful lesson about loose lips.

“He broke his femur, which is hard to snap, and had to have a rod inserted,” a source told The New York Post. “He told health services staff that he hurt them playing handball. You don’t break a femur playing handball.”

The injuries were payback for the fact that Cameron ratted out his drug suppliers during his sentence hearing in 2009. He made a deal with prosecutors and testified against his dealers, Mexican immigrant brothers David and Eduardo Escalera. It allowed him to get a 5 year deal instead of 10. However, Cameron had almost 5 more years added on to his sentence after he was caught smuggling in heroin and a prescription narcotic while at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

The Post also noted that Michael’s doppelganger tried to harden his image behind jail to avoid becoming a target. He wanted to become a gangster and even pumped iron to help his achieve his makeover.

“He recently had his initials inscribed on his neck and big stars on his shoulders, with each year of his incarceration in each star: ’10, ’11, ’12. And he’s currently getting a scroll on his back. They are being done by his best prison pal, Billy Trent, and he’s paid over $1,000 so far for all the ink.”

But lipstick on a pig is still a pig. And a rat is still a rat, even if it is a bigger one. Inmates have long memories and don’t appreciate the code of silence being broken. Which is why he is now walking on crutches.
