Reese Witherspoon is a big fan of Robert Pattinson, not necessarily for his acting talent, but for his great degree of fame and how he handles it. Reese was blown away by seeing how hordes of fans simply idolize Rob and crave a simple touch from the super celeb. It is a though Rob were a holy figure and his fans were seeking a blessing or a cure.
Reese has made two movies with Rob, ‘Vanity Fair’ and ‘Water for Elephants,’ and so she has seen up close the remarkable fan appreciation, not to say hysteria, he induces. Even for an academy award winner like Reese the fan enthusiasm she sees surrounding Rob is unprecedented. I guess she never saw Elvis Presley or The Beatles live!
Reese spoke to MTV: “I’ve never experienced what he has — going to premieres and there’s just millions of people waiting for him to touch them. I think it must be strange, but I don’t even know how to process what he deals with and Kristen [Stewart] deals with. I don’t know. [He’s]a really cool guy.”
Do we sense just a wee bit of envy there? Additionally Reese is impressed with Rob for not letting fame go to his head and appreciating all that he has achieved.
Reese added: “I would say [he is] the hardest-working person I’ve ever worked with, honestly. [He’s] professional, hard-working, so appreciative, more grateful than I’ve ever seen anyone for where he is in life.”
Robert and Reese are known to be very friendly and he sent her some glow-in-the-dark exercise clothes after she was hit by a car while out jogging last year to protect her from a repeat performance of the accident.
The gift parcel from Robert contained reflective vests, wrist bands, tennis shoes and a hat – all of which were designed by Stella McCartney – and was sent to Reese’s home along with a note wishing her a speedy recovery.
A source said: “Reese was very touched by Rob’s gesture.” “She intends to keep running and the gear will come in very handy when it’s dark outside.”
Reese and Rob – two very decent celebs – we could certainly use more of them.
