Wonderful news from Shelby Loosch at GLOBE this week as we learn that Soap Opera Queen, Catherine Hickland, is marrying her sweetheart, Todd Fisher! This romantic coupling, between the son of the brilliant Hollywood Icon and current GLOBE advice columnist, Debbie Reynolds, and the One Life to Life stunner, was made possible through the use of social media, namely Facebook. It pays to be computer literate!
And guess what? Todd’s sister is none other than Star War’s Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher, who is hosting the December 22nd wedding at her Beverly Hills home. There will be approximately 100 guests at the celebration and the feast is being prepared by none other than Mary Douglas who has been Debbie’s cook for 50 years! The menu will include “fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, black-eyed peas, corn bread and monkey bread,” says Todd.
Todd reconnected with Catherine on Facebook more than 30 years after they first met and hit it off beautifully. The happy couple first met when Catherine was still married to her second husband, David Hasselhoff. Although she and Todd attended the same Beverly Hills Church, it took the Internet to get them together after several weeks of chatting. We learn that Todd’s mom is absolutely delighted with his bride-to-be. Debbie said: “Every mother dreams that her son will find the perfect girl and Todd has found that in Catherine.”
We are certain that the soon-to-be newlyweds will enjoy a wonderful life together – and wish them Mazel Tov and a Merry Christmas! What a great time for a wedding!
