The Box Office Results Are In: ‘Chronicle’ and ‘The Woman In Black’ Dominate!

In what was supposed to be a weekend totally Superbowl orientated – it appears that didn’t stop movie goer’s from flocking to the theaters. Two new films, which were not high on the expectation list, did impeccably well this weekend.

‘Chronicle’, directed by Josh Trank, is a sci-fi film about three high school students who develop superpowers, and how their lives spin out of control because of their inability to control them. The film brought in an impressive $22.2 million, taking the lead over another surprise hit, Daniel Radcliffe’s new movie ‘The Woman In Black’.

The thriller is said to be very spooky – something that fans were drawn too. It took in an estimated $21.5 million during it’s first weekend of release. I’m no fan of scary movies, but I’ve been told this one will have you on the edge of your seats.

Rounding out the top 5 at the box office was ‘The Grey’, ‘Big Miracle’, and ‘Underworld: Awakening’. Time to go to the movies!
