My favorite show The X Factor USA returns tonight to FOX for the first of a two-part premiere for season 2. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato join Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid behind the judges table for the singing competition’s second season. That is not the only changes this season according to Simon Cowell. He told TV Guide, “When you watch the first episode, you’re going to be surprised at how different this show is. This is very, very different to anything I’ve ever made before or anything I’ve ever seen before.”
According to The X Factor Website: “The biggest change, according to Simon, is the behind-the-scenes reality element of the show, where you see the contestants interacting with each other. “We tell it this time through the contestants, so the cameras have gone further than we’ve ever shown before,” he explained. “And some of them are absolutely totally vile with each another. They’re competitive. They’re evil. So we’ve done it to, a) be different than all the other shows out there, and, secondly, this is the show I’ve always wanted to make.”
Another thing we know for sure is, there will be two hosts this season. Simon Cowell recently came out with who his choice was, Khloe Karadshian, according to network sources, it’s now out of his hands and in the hands of FOX, who will be making the ultimate decision. Although the show premieres this week, the host won’t be needed until the live shows air, which won’t begin until next month. Simon did say they would make the announcements this week. What do you think of Khloe Kardashian as a host? Hit the comments and let us know who else would you like to see host!
Tonight the The X Factor will be going up against The Voice who extended their premiere from two days to three days. Simon says viewers should choose his show because the format is more interesting. He went on to say they may lose the battle tomorrow but in the end The X Factor will win the war. Britney Spears recently said she is “ecstatic” and “elated” to go up against former fellow Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera. Why don’t I believe her?
Although last seasons X Factor USA averaged 12 million viewers it did not live up to the bragging Simon Cowell did. Before the show started he said he would not be happy with any audience less than 20 million. By the end of the first season Simon realized this was not going to happen. He also realized he would need to make big changes. This season he says he wants to do just a little better than last season, much more modest.
We hope that the second season of X-Factor USA will be the greatest reality season in television history. It is already shaping up to become one of the most important television seasons of the year with all the hype and competition.
