Like many families this holiday season, the Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes clan will be doing the broken home boogie trying to manage the holidays with a kid and a custody agreement. The divorced couple has one child together and Cruise hasn’t seen her since July of this year due to his filming All You Need is Kill in the United Kingdom. His last visit with Suri Cruise was in July when the two were spotted at Disney World in Florida.
The internationally recognized couple wed in November 2006 following the April birth of daughter Suri. At the end of June 2012 the Dawson’s Creek beauty quietly filed for divorce from the Mission Impossible star. The high profile break up was shrouded in rumors that Cruise’s religious background, Scientology, was a strain on the couple. It was Holmes’s first marriage and Cruise’s third. Cruise has two adopted children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman, Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise, and this holiday season all of his children will be together. Filming for All You Need is Kill has been extended through the Christmas holiday.
A source reports to The SUN that “by the time Christmas comes, Tom won’t have seen Suri for a long time. So he’s agreed with Katie that it’s only right she stays with him. Filming has been extended until after Christmas, so he will appreciate the break.” Cruise may fly to New York for the holiday or rent a house in Scotland so that his family can enjoy a peaceful Christmas holiday.
While celeb pals Usher, Matt Damon and Cameron Diaz have helped Cruise through the loneliness of life without Holmes and Suri, divorce is never easy, not even for the Rock of Ages superstar. Though, if past behavior is an indicator, Cruise will be on to the next bride no time. Fingers crossed that Lord Xenu says it’s cool.
