True Blood Season 5 Finale ‘Save Yourself’ REVIEW

Spoiler alert: If you’re one of those people who doesn’t like spoilers, stop reading now! We have some juicy spoilers for you about the season 5 episode 12 Finale of HBO’s “True Blood”

On last week’s episode it certainly looked like Bill is going off the deep end.  It seems Bill is convinced he is the chosen one by Lilith.  We also saw Russell completely take down the Fairy Elder, who was BTW one of my favorite minor characters the show has ever brought in.  Sookie appeared before her to get some answers about the vampire out to eat her, but she struggled with getting coherent answers.

Official HBO synopsis of True Blood Season 5 Finale: Eric is going to embark on a final, desperate mission to overthrow the Authority and save Bill from losing his humanity. Andy is going to face the consequences of a light pact he made.  Alcide will get ready for a second showdown with JD. Sam and Luna are going to test their limits in trying to escape the Authority.

On tonight’s show with the season coming to an end and we at Celeb Dirty Laundry are sad.  The season was jam packed full of crazy, blood sucking action.  In the preview for this week’s show it looks like Bill may hurt Sam.  Bill tells Sam he should never have come to The Vampire Authority Headquarters.  Apparently Sam knows too much now and he cannot trust him.  If Bill hurts Sam, Sookie is not going to be pleased!  Will Salome and Bill have a showdown, an epic battle between Chosen Ones? No doubt. Who will be victorious?

Eric, Nora and Tara show up at Sookie’s house.  Eric wants Sookie to come to the Vampire Authority’s Headquarters to talk some sense into Bill.  Eric tells Sookie they have Jessica and Pam, Tara pipes in that Sookie owes Pam.  Jason is there and he lets the three musketeers know that he is not letting his sister go anywhere with them.  Jason tells Sookie she has to tell the Fangers they should go back to the Hell that created them.  Eric tells Sookie that it is Bill who has engineered blowing the True Blood factories up.  He informs Sookie that he thinks she is the only person who will be able to get through to Bill.  Can Sookie save Bill?

It looks like things may not go well for Russell Edgington tonight.   The government has a video of Russell and Steve eviscerating 22 fraternity brothers at the local fraternity and they are not pleased.  Meanwhile Russell not one to stop there has decided he wants a Sookie meal.  The faeries band together and gear up for a fight and send lots of faery light at Russell.  Russell is mocking them telling them he cannot even feel it!  Russell isn’t your run-of-the-mill villain so I’m betting on the fact that they won’t stake him quite yet. They put a lot of effort into his comeback and, depending on whether or not he gets his fill of fairy blood (chances are he will), there’ll be a whole new story line for the show to play with next season: daywalkers.

On tonight’s show nearly every character is in a sticky situation, one that could very easily result in a vampire explosion, fairy explosion, shapeshifter explosion, or plain ol’ boring human explosion. Regardless, there’s going to be blood.  It also seems likely there is going to be a huge cliffhanger!

Tonight’s episode is going to be another bloody exciting one, which you won’t want to miss. So be sure to tune in for our live coverage of HBO’s True Blood — tonight at 9PM EST!  While you wait for our recap, hit the comments and let us know what you thought of True Blood season 5!

Jessica just cannot believe that Bill did not want to warn Sookie about Russell coming after her.

Alcide is with his Dad and his father is telling Alcide life is not fair because the bad don’t get punished and the good do not get rewarded.  Hmm – guess that explains Kim Kardashian.

Emma’s grandmother drives up and she tells Alcide she has Ricky in the car.  J.D. forced her to drink V and she thinks she may be overdosing.  Ricky is ranting and saying crazy things.

Sookie and Jason head to get some equipment to protect themselves when they go into the Vampire Authority Headquarters.  Sookie tries to convince Jason that Eric, Tara and Nora are trying to help everyone.  Jason tells Sookie every fanger is fair game.

Ricky is lying on the coach at Alcide’s father and she is in pain.  Alcide is upset and asks Ricky what happened.  Ricky tells Alcide that J.D. called a pack meeting and when she went there they held her down and forced V down her throat.  Alcide wants to kill him but he tells his father that the last time he fought J.D. he almost killed him.  His father tells him he has to fight J.D. on his own terms.

His father goes to the fridge and tells Alcide the V J.D. is talking is sub-quality.  His father has premiere V and wants Alcide to drink it.

Lafayette makes drinks for Arlene and Holly.  Holly tells him the drink is amazing.  Arlene tells him the drink is like candy.  Lafayette, Holly and Arlene drink and dance.  Gosh, Lafayette is cute!

Sookie tells Jason that she knows life has been hard for him but he cannot let it tear him down.  While Jason and Sookie are driving a head pops in the car and tells them to pull over.

Mirella is having her baby and Holly is delivering the baby.  Mirella tells Holly it is the 72 time she has given birth.  Mirella is basically doing contractions while delivering the baby.  Something explodes and a baby is there.  Holly says, “It’s a girl with no umbilical cord.”

Holly tells Andy he better be good to his daughter.  Mirella starts screaming again and Holly tells everyone they are not done.

Steve comes down to the cells where everyone is to get Emma.  Steve tells Emma he has her and he is never letting her god.  He whispers to her not to shift because Steve wants to get her past the guards.

As Steve comes out the secretary stops him and he tells her he is taking Emma for a walk and she offers to get someone to help him.  Steve tells her no he wants to take Emma for a walk.  The secretary keeps talking to Steve and he wants to get out of there.  As he goes to put the code in to get out Roslyn walks in and tells Steve she needs him for damage control.

She puts in the code and the door opens and Steve follows her into the elevator with Emma.

Roslyn asks Steve what he and Russell were thinking off?

Alcide and his Dad are heading through the woods and J.D. has a vampire tied to a tree and he is draining him and drinking his blood.

Alcide tells J.D. it is enough and Alcide and J.D. start fighting.  Other members of the pack try to jump in and Alcide’s father stops them.  Emma’s grandmother comes with a bow and arrow and tells everyone the fight is between Alcide and J.D.

Alcide breaks J.D.’s neck, he tells the pack that they are wolves and this stops now they do not prey on the week.  He tells them this is how it will be in this pack and if anyone does not like it they can leave the pack.  They have 24 hrs to leave.

Eric and Nora come to the entrance to the Vampire Authority Headquarters, they have Sookie, Tara and Jason in the backseat.  They ask to be granted access and the guard calls Bill who tells them to admit him.

Bill looks at the camera to see who Eric has in the car and he sees Sookie and looks upset.

Steve is being prepared to go on TV for the AVL (American Vampire League) meanwhile Roslyn is holding Emma for him.

As Steve starts talking on the television he starts to vomit and Luna appears it seems she was shifted into Steve.  Luna tells everyone humans are being held so vampires can feed on them in an underground cell.  Roslyn knocks the TV cameras over.  Sam as a fly, kills Roslyn.  Luna falls over.

Bill comes in and sees Salome all dressed up.  Bill tells her she is setting a real tone.  Salome tells Bills she is sorry, but Lilith chose her.

Bill tells Salome that she has to be careful she does not know what will happen if she drinks all Lilith’s blood.  Salome takes the blood and drinks the whole vial down because she tells Bill she is stronger.

Bill closes his eyes.

Jason is in the entrance to the Vampire Authority and there is blood splattered everywhere.   Sookie, Tara, Pam and Jessica come in.  Jessica embraces Jason and tells him she loves him, Jason tells her he could never love a vampire.  The elevator opens and they all get in but Eric says he is staying to save Bill.  Sookie decides to stay too.

Salome is vomiting on the floor and Bill tells her she is so conceited and arrogant she did not smell the silver Bill put in the blood.  Salome cannot believe that he put silver in the mother’s blood.  Bill laughs and shows her another vial and tells Salome that he would never desecrate the holy vial.  Salome tells Bill, “Lilith chose wisely.”  He stakes Salome.

Bill takes the vial and goes to drink.  Eric and Sookie come into the room.  Eric tells Bill that Lilith is a terrible god.  Sookie tells Bill this is not him but Bill tells Sookie she is an abomination.  Sookie fights back and tells Bill he is unique among all the vampires.

Bill tells Sookie he has lived his whole life apologizing and he does not want to do that anymore.  He starts quoting Lilith’s scripture.

Sookie asks him if she ever meant anything to him.  Bill tells Sookie he told her the first night, vampires often turn on those they love.

Bill downs all Lilith’s blood and he explodes in a pool of blood.  Sookie sobs and Eric watches the blood and says, Sookie.  Out of the pool of blood a vampire rises and the fangs come out.  Eric screams, ‘RUN…’

The End!
