Tyler Ransom is your typical Tween. He loves hanging out with friends, going to school and doing things children love to do. Ransom however is doing more than kid his age looking to make his mark on life because he’s battling a rare disease called Nephrotic Syndrome. He decided to take a stance and help other kids with the same disease while raising awareness for his disorder. His passion and courage attracted the attention of many top MMA Fighters who will help him in his cause.
His strength and courage has led to interviews with “Inside MMA” hosts, Bas Rutten and Kenny Rice and “Strikeforce” fighter Ronda Rousey, a Judo Olympic Medalist and Strikeforce Women’s bantamweight champion. Together with Tyler Ransom, these MMA fighters are squaring off against Nephrotic Syndrome and won’t quit until there is a cure.
This disease strikes 20 out of every 1,000,000 children. It causes the kidneys to malfunction and produce severe leg and face swelling. Ransom has battled this disorder since the age of 2. He takes over 8 medications daily and has a strict diet; thankfully his condition hasn’t disabled him.
Together with his parents, they founded Healing Tyler Foundation which raises money for Nephcure Foundation.
