Dancing with the Stars’ 15th season is reaching a climactic finale in the next two weeks. Six couples have fallen, and now only seven remain. Tonight’s elimination show will see two couples bite the dancing floor dust. Who will it be? Which five couples will remain for the penultimate performance show next week? Who will be the ultimate DWTS champion? Celeb Dirty Laundry is once again bringing you a full scoring review of last night’s performances, so read below to find out how your favourite did. Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough danced the Viennese Waltz – The front-runner couple received brilliant critique from the judges. Bruno called it “heavenly perfection”, Len “loved it”, and Carrie Ann “felt the emotion in the room”. Shawn and Derek received a perfect 10 from Carrie Ann and Bruno, and a near-perfect 9.5 from Len. Their first dance score was 29.5 – 0.5 points below Shawn’s perfect 30 point score from last week. In their second dance of the night, The Latin Trio, the couple was joined by Mark Ballas for the Samba. Len disliked the second dance and called it “self-indulgent”, while Bruno and Carrie Ann completely disagreed. Len scored the trio a 7 point score, while Carrie Ann scored them a perfect 10, and Bruno awarded an almost perfect 9 point score. Shawn and Derek’s GRAND TOTAL SCORE – 93.5 – the second highest score for the two weeks of competition.
Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff danced the Tango – Once again, the judges absolutely loved their performance. Len said Apolo was his “hero”, Bruno likened him to Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, and Carrie Ann “loved it!” Bruno and Carrie Ann scored them a perfect 10 points, while Len scored them an almost perfect 9.5 points. Their first dance score was 29.5 – 0.5 points below their perfect 30 point score of last week. In their second dance of the night, the couple was joined by Sasha Farber for the Jive. Len and Bruno loved it, and Carrie Ann called it one of Apolo’s best and most vibrant performances so far. Bruno and Len scored the trio 9.5, while Carrie Ann scored the trio a perfect 10. Apolo and Karina’s GRAND TOTAL SCORE – 91.5 – the second lowest score for the two weeks of competition.
Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the Viennese Waltz – The low scoring couple received wonderful scores and critique from the judges. Len said it was their “best dance ever”, Bruno called it “stylish”, and Carrie Ann thought their “lines were perfect.” All three judges scored them 9 points. Their first dance score was 27 – One of their highest scores of the season. In their second dance of the night, the couple was joined by Tristan McManus for the Paso Doble. All three judges disliked the trio dance. Len thought it “lacked finesse”, Bruno thought it “could have been more defined”, and Carrie Ann thought it “was a little sloppy for a Paso Doble”. All three judges scored the trio 8 points. Kirstie and Maks’ GRAND TOTAL SCORE – 79 – the lowest score for the two weeks of competition, 12.5 points below the second lowest score of Apolo and Karina.
Kelly Monaco and Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced the Viennese Waltz – This slowly dwindling couple received average critique from the judges. Len “did not always enjoy the movement”, Bruno thought Kelly “gave her soul”, and Carrie Ann thought it was “wow”. Bruno and Carrie Ann scored them a near-perfect 9.5 point, while Len scored them 9 points. Their first dance score was 28 – Their highest score of the season. In their second dance of the night, the couple was joined by Louis Van Amstel for the Jive. All three judges loved it. Bruno thought they “did it well”, Len thought it “had the X-Factor”, and Carrie Ann “liked it”. The trio scored 9.5 from each of the judges. Kelly and Val’s GRAND TOTAL SCORE – 92.5 – a middle of the pack score.
Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd danced the Quickstep – This previously front-running couple received brilliant critique and scores from the judges. Len called it “thunder and lightning”, Bruno said it was “fast and efficient”, and Carrie Ann saw “some wobbling, but it was good.” Len and Bruno scored the couple a perfect ten, while Carrie Ann scored them a near-perfect 9.5. Their first dance score was 29.5 – their highest score of the competition. In their second dance of the night, the couple was joined by Chelsie Hightower for the Salsa. Len said it was “full on”, Bruno saw Giles “lose the timing a couple of times”, and Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno, but loved “how [Giles] took control of the dance floor.” Carrie Ann and Bruno scored them 9.5 points, while Len gave them a perfect score of 10 points. Giles and Peta’s GRAND TOTAL SCORE – 92.0 – the third lowest score for the two weeks of competition.
Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke danced the Viennese Waltz – Emmitt and Cheryl received above average critique from the judges. Len wanted “more fluidity”, Bruno saw a “slight stumble, but it was very nice”, Carrie Ann thought it was “smooth and effective, but [Emmitt] slipped a little.” Bruno and Len scored the couple a near-perfect 9.5, while Carrie Ann scored them a proper 9 points. Their first dance score was 28 – one of their highest scores of the competition. In their second dance, the couple was joined by Kym Johnson for the Salsa. All three judges absolutely loved it and scored the couple a perfect 10. Emmitt and Cheryl’s GRAND TOTAL SCORE – 92.5 – a middle of the pack score.
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani danced the Quickstep – Melissa and Tony were the only ones who achieved a perfect score during their first and second dance of the night. Len thought it was “the bee’s knees”, Bruno thought it was “fantastic”, and Carrie Ann called it an “awesome job!” All three judges scored the couple a perfect ten. Their first dance score was 30 – Their highest score of the competition. In their second dance, the couple was joined by Henry Byalikov for the Paso Doble. All three judges loved it, with Bruno calling it a “thing of beauty”. All three judges also scored the trio a perfect 10. GRAND TOTAL SCORE – 99.0 – only one point away from the perfect score of 100 points.
