Last night “American Idol” exploded with talent! Did you see the episode? If you missed it, you can read the full recap HERE.
I can honestly tell you that I did not expect some of the “jaw dropping” performances from some of the Idol hopefuls. Joshua Ledet literally brought the house down with his rendition of “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown. Did you see the performance? If you missed it, you can watch it HERE. The judges didn’t even wait for the song to end, they were all up on their feet, hell I was even on my feet! Now, you all know I have been routing for Phillip Phillips, but I have to be honest, Joshua owned the show last tonight!
The next best performance of the night was by my favourite hopeful, Phillip Phillips. When he sang “Volcano” by Damine Rise, I felt the same way as Jennifer, it was the “most beautiful poignant moment ever on Idol.” There just hasn’t ever been anyone on Idol that could make a song their own like Phillip. Did you see his rendition? If not, you can watch the video HERE.
The last worthy performance of the night was by Jessica Sanchez when she sang “And I’m Telling You” by Jennifer Holliday. Personally, I am not a fan of Jessica because I find that although she does have amazing vocals, she lacks the connection with the audience and tends to overact. Even Jimmy Lovine said that he was very disappointed with Jessica’s “Proud Mary” last week and had noted her in his personal bottom two! This week, Jessica did much better, did you see the performance? If not, you can watch the video HERE.
Sadly, Hollie Cavanagh, who has been the “Dark Horse”, fell flat last night. I was really hoping that she would continue to step up her game and be in the top three, but after last night’s performance, I think she blew it. Check out her performance HERE, do you think its Idol worthy?
