Big Brother is a cesspool of racists and disgusting human behavior. I mean, I understand why it does well – in theory, the show is fascinating and it’s definitely a trainwreck most of the time. But the kind of behavior that goes on in the BB house is something that would never fly in real life, much less on other reality shows.
Either way, these Big Brother contestants clearly don’t care about their public image outside of the show, because they’ve steadily been getting fired from their day jobs for spewing racist remarks on camera. Aaryn Gries is one of the worst ones, and she’s been caught hurling racial stereotypes at others on the show, including Asians and African-Americans.
Thankfully, Aaryn has been dropped from her modeling agency after she was caught on camera saying racist and homophobic remarks. She told an Asian to go ‘make some rice’ and she was also caught calling a gay guest ‘queer’. That’s not even the worst of it – she also said this when referring to a black contestant: “Be careful what you say in the dark, you might not be able to see that b*tch.”
I feel disgusted, and thankfully, Aaryn’s modeling agency agrees. Zephyr Talent in Texas has released a statement about dropping Aaryn, saying, “Aaryn, season 15 cast member of Big Brother, revealed prejudices and other beliefs that we (Zephyr Talent) do not condone. We certainly find the statements made by Aaryn on the live Internet feed to be offensive. Upon much consideration, we have decided to release Aaryn from her contract with Zephyr Talent.”
Does Aaryn even care? She’s probably happy that she’s getting her time in the spotlight, and she will probably go on to leverage that spotlight for all its worth after she leaves the house.
What do you guys think of Aaryn’s comments? Do you think she should have faced harsher punishment than just being kicked off the show? Let us know what you think in the comments.
