One week before People Magazine announces their Sexiest Man Alive for their annual SMA issue, Gossip Cop has exclusively reported that the Sexiest Man Alive this year will be none other than Adam Levine.
Poor People Magazine – Gossip Cop keeps blowing their exclusives, and it’s gotta suck. The one time People is actually relevant – when they’re not acting as the celebrity publicist mouthpiece, of course – Gossip Cop beats them to the punch.
So does Adam Levine make sense? He would be succeeding Channing Tatum, a first time winner of the SMA award. However, Channing’s award made perfect sense – he’d had three $100 movies all open to above $30 million, and everybody loved him. The women loved him, the men loved him, and he had conquered all the genres, from romantic comedies, to plain comedies, to action. A new movie star was heralded, and Channing Tatum arrived onto the A-list. However, has that happened this year?
It’s definitely happened with several female actresses, Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Chastain being the two notable names. But in the male movie star category, the only people to have had a traditionally successful year are George Clooney and Brad Pitt, and really, how many more SMA awards do those two need? Two is more than enough, and it’ll just end up being silly if they win again. Also, whoever is crowned the SMA needs to be willing to play – give exclusive interviews and open up about their private life to an extent that not many celebrities are willing to do nowadays.
This is where I think Adam Levine has an advantage. He would definitely take this opportunity to raise his profile, and he wouldn’t mind selling out his private life in exchange for that. But still, we’ll have to wait until next week to see how truly accurate this exclusive is.
