Tonight Norman Bates in Bates Motel airs again on A&E. This is the sixth episode of the series that was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho that focuses on the life of Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga).
The highlight of last week’s episode “The Truth” was when Deputy Shelby smacked around Norma after he found out that she was harboring the girl he had locked away. After a foot race into the woods after the girl, Shelby returns and gets into a shoot out with Dylan. In the end, Shelby loses not only the shoot out, but his life. Dylan and Norman found the belt on Shelby’s boat. The episode ends with Norma banged up with bruises and cuts, Shelby dead and Norman with a dazed and confused look on his face. While waiting for the police to arrive, Norma confides in Dylan just exactly how Norman’s father was killed – Dylan realizes that his brother has some serious mental issues. The cops arrive, the episode ends there.
Tonight’s sixth episode is called “The Man In Number 9” and Norma soon realizes that her new guest is not what they first appear to be. Dylan doesn’t like the new guest, he thinks he is rude and creepy. Norman starts to have more problems, this time it is with the popular girls at school. Will the cops believe that Dylan shot Shelby in self defense? Will the girl that Shelby held captive be found? It will definitely be interesting to see how all this plays out tonight.
