It’s no secret that celebrities are the most searched for people on the internet, and it probably won’t come as a surprise that the most searched for person in 2013 was none other than the Queen B herself, Beyonce. Also not surprising, Kim Kardashian came in second place, with Rihanna and Taylor Swift stealing spots three and four. And if you’re wondering where the Twerk Princess ranked, you won’t have to look far. Miley Cyrus came in like a wrecking ball at spot number nine, just above President Obama.
The most searched song of 2013 was “Thriftshop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and the most searched for movie was Iron Man 3, a franchise that, as we saw, thrived in the box office. I think it’s interesting how far One Direction fell. They cleaned up the awards this season, so I expected that their song would’ve ranked higher — but, then again, Macklemore’s thrift shop experience took over the world for several months, so I suppose the results aren’t astonishingly out-of-this-world.
