Beyonce‘s new album has been the conversation of topic since it released earlier this week. It took everyone by surprise, and of course, no one’s been able to stop talking about it since then.
However, there’s some particular lyrics in the single ‘Mine’ that don’t necessarily make sense. Now, I’m not saying that musical lyrics always have to make sense, especially when it comes to pop culture and pop songs. But the lyrics are almost always evocative of a message that the singer is trying to get out, and if we take a look at the lyrics in ‘Mine’, the message might be a tad bit surprising.
Let’s first take a look at the lyrics, especially the segment that says,
“On my mind up past my bedtime, no rest at the kingdom
Alone in my place, my heart is away
All that I can think of is, we should get married
We should get married
Let’s stop holding back on this and let’s get carried away.”
Is Beyonce cheating on Jay-Z? She’s already married to Jay, so who is she referring to in the song? And the phrase ‘my heart is away’ – is she trying to say that her heart is somewhere else, and that she wants to get ‘carried away’ with whoever she’s talking about?
Of course, she could just be referring to Jay-Z and the lyrics might just not have any meaning whatsoever. But considering the rumors that have always circulated about Jay-Z being spotted with various women and screwing around on Beyonce, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had some sort of down-low open relationship. I mean, there’s no way they’re ever going to break up, not with their status as the royal couple of the music world – but that doesn’t mean that they don’t get some action on the side.
