Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds may be Hollywood’s new favorite married couple, but I don’t think that makes them the next Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. But according to a new report from Star Magazine, both Blake and Ryan are desperately trying to be the ‘next’ Brad and Angelina.
A source explains to Star, “[Blake and Ryan are] totally obsessed with becoming the next Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and are carefully following in the footsteps of their A-list power couple idols. Ryan and Blake get extremely excited when people tell them they remind them of Brad and Angelina. They love how Brad and Angie live their lives, and they go out of their way to mirror them.”
Well, if this is true [which I doubt], that makes them stupid. Brad and Angelina were legitimate stars in their own right, famous for both their film work and their private lives, before they got together. Brad had a respected list of films on his resume, he was already a box office draw, and Angelina had an Oscar. Blake, on the other hand, is best known for Gossip Girl and dating Leonardo DiCaprio, whereas Ryan still can’t open a movie based on his name.
Honestly, I think the only reason this report came to exist is because Blake and Ryan both said that they want big families, and what Hollywood couple is the poster family for having lots of children? Brangelina.
I also highly doubt Blake and Ryan even think that’s possible – they’re not stupid. They don’t have the cache nor the credibility, and unless there’s a drastic turnaround within the next few years, Blake doesn’t seem the type to spend her life on humanitarian work.
