Breaking Bad RECAP 9/22/13: Season 5 Episode 15 “Granite State”

Get ready BREAKING BAD fans, tonight is another new and exciting episode of our favorite show.  On tonight’s show events set in motion long ago move toward a conclusion.  Did you watch last week’s episode?  If you want to catch up before tonight’s show, we have a full and detailed recap, right here for you!

On last week’s episode there were some pretty intense shootout and bullets that were exchanged.  Hank and Gomezwere dead. Skylar told Walter Jr. everything and Skylar tried to kill Walter.  Walter Jr. called the police on Walter and saved his Mom’s life.  Things are not looking good for Jesse.  At the end of the show it looked like Walter is leaving to start a new life.

On tonight’s show Walter is on his way to start a new life.  Remember on episode 14 Walter Jr. called the police on him so he has to get away. We assume that when Walter was picked up he headed to New Hampshire since that is the Granite State.  It looks like someone is going to come after Skylar and the family.  Saul tells Walter if they cannot have him they are going after Skylar and the kids.

RECAP: We see a red van pull into a place where they sell vacuums, this older man opens a garage and Saul comes out of the red van with his luggage; he gets a picture taken of himself and is given a new identity in Nabraska. He will hide out at the vacuum store for at least 2 or 3 days before he can leave; he will also have a bunk mate. Saul asks about his bunk mate and the man tells him to be the judge; Saul looks on a monitor and sees Walter.

Marie is in a car and is told by a D.E.A. Agent that they will find Hank; two men get out of the car and find her house broken into. Uncle Jack is watching Jesse’s confession to everything Walter did; they hear about how Todd shot and killed a young kid. They pause it at that moment and Jack leaves, Todd comes out and says they should keep Jesse for cooking. Jack says they have all the money in the world and don’t need more money; Todd says they can make more and how can’t you not want it. Jack then gives him a little hug and starts joking about him having a thing for Lydia, they laugh and joke about it; Jack then says they should go watch more of Jesse’s confession tape. Jesse is sitting in his pit and has the picture of Andrea and Brock; he takes a paper clip and tries to unlock his handcuffs with it. The man at the vacuum store is on the phone and we look underground to find Walter and Saul together. Walter is writing and Saul questions what he’s doing; Walter tells Saul to give him some mercenaries and at least 5 of them. Saul asks who they are hitting, Walter says they will hit Jack and his men because they killed Hank. Saul says that he should not leave his family; Walter says that it’s ignorant to think this because Skyler is playing the victim. Saul says the phone call was awesome but in a year and a half they will go after Skyler; Saul says that getting money to her is impossible now. Saul tells Walter to stay and face the music and asks how much time he has left; Walter starts getting upset and says he never wanted to run and only does everything for his family. Walter says he will kill Jack and his entire crew; after that he is through with everything. The man comes to check on them and says that Saul is set to go; Walter says it’s a change of plans and that both Saul and him are going together. Saul says he’s done being a lawyer; Walter says he’s still part of it whether he likes it or not. Walter then tells him it’s not over and has a horrible coughing fit; Saul says it is over and walks away.

Skyler is sitting in an office and is in a meeting with several different men; they are talking about going to trial and such but they question if she’s even listening. They ask her if she understand and she just says yes; understanding that she’s in a horrible situation. She can’t give them Walter because she doesn’t know where he is, they tell her to go an disgust this with her lawyer.

Skyler has her house being watched by the police; she hears Holly crying and decides to go see her. There are people in masks at the crib and they ask if anyone is in her house; they tell her they have respect for her husband. They know she’s been talking to the police but they make it clear that if she talks about Lydia whatsoever that they will take action; Skyler agrees to the terms. The three intruders tell her they don’t want to have to come back; they all leave through the back. Skyler goes and picks up Holly. Todd is sitting at some diner and Lydia walks in; she sits down behind him and tells him to stay there. Todd says he went to the White’s house, he says it went really good and the message was received loud and clear. A waitress comes over to Lydia and takes her order; Lydia says that they can’t settle for just sending a message. Todd says Skyler seems like a nice lady looking out for her kids; Lydia says they are going to have to take a break. Todd says his meth is 92% pure now and it’s blue like before; she questions it and Todd tells her they have Pinkman. Todd says they make a good team, she questions the percentage again. Walter is in some propane trunk and crawls out of it; he’s given his new identity in New Hampshire.

Walter goes into his brand new home and takes a look throughout the place; the man tells him about everything he has within his home and how long his food supply should last him. The man tells him he will go out every month and will get him the things he needs since Walter is a wanted man; there is no phone or internet because of how they could track him. Walter says he has business to conduct, the man tells him he’s a target for a nation wide man hunt and has to keep out of sight. Walter asks what’s keeping him from leaving; the man says he can’t stop him but if he leaves then he will get caught. If he finds out Walter leaves he will not come back for him, Walter says sure. The man gets in his propane truck and Walter says bye too him. Walter opens up his barrel of money and takes several stacks of cash with him in his pockets. Walter then takes out his hat from his bag; the one he wore as Heisenburg. Walter leaves the house and starts making his way out of his property; he then stops and closes the gate saying he’ll go tomorrow. Walter lights up his fire place and warms up. Jesse has his hand free and is trying to reach to the top of the pit to get out, people are coming by and they look down to see him inside, Todd drops some food inside to him; he tells Jesse he cooked 96% pure batch. Todd starts smoking and tells him to get some sleep because it’s going to be a big day, Jesse asks if he could leave the tarp off tonight so he can see the stars. Todd says sure and Jesse thanks him; Todd says goodnight and walks away. Jesse takes off the cuffs again off his wrists and ankles; he jumps up to the bars and holds on trying to unlatch it.Jesse gets his hand up and pulls it; he gets out of the pit and starts running away. Jesse see the fence with barb wire and makes a run for it anyways; there was a camera watching the whole time and he’s caught. Jesse starts screaming at them to kill him; Todd is out and rings the doorbell to Andrea’s house. He asks about Jesse and says he’s a friend; she asks about him and Todd says he’s fine. Todd says Jesse is in the truck with him and Andrea walks outside; Todd shoots Andrea in the head. Jesse starts crying watching it from inside the van; Todd comes back and he’s just freaking out.

Walter goes out to the gate again and sees a vehicle approaching, he opens the gate and welcomes them. Walter was brought a bunch of newspaper and his beard and hair have grown. Walter starts looking through all the papers;he takes a new pair of glasses and is told his family is fine so far; but they will be in court. Skyler is also now using her maiden name; he looked at their old house and there is a fence around it. He asks if Walter is ready; he says yeah. Walter is getting his chemo; they do it right in the house. Walter asks if he can stay longer but he says he’s got a long trip ahead of him; Walter offers him 10 thousand more dollars. He accepts the offer, the two of them sit back and play cards. The man deals the cards and Walter says that one day he will be dead; he asks if the man will give the money to his family. The man says that if he said yes would Walter believe him, Walter doesn’t answer. Walter looks at all the articles about him and his family in the paper and puts them all up on his walls; Walter’s wedding ring falls off in the night and he takes a thread and makes his ring into a necklace instead. Walter goes looking around for something in a box and this time decides to leave his house; walking through the snow.

Junior is called to the principles office and it’s his Aunt Marie with something important on the phone; Junior takes the call and instead Walter takes the phone. Walter says it’s so good to hear his voice, he says that he did some terrible things happened that he did not intend. He asks if Junior’s friend lives at the same place; Junior says yes. Walter says that he sent money to his friends house that will be for Junior and the family; Walter says he wanted to give so much more but it’s all he can do. Junior then questions him sending money, Junior starts saying he killed Hank. Junior calls him an asshole; he tells Walter to shut up and wants nothing from him at all. Junior tells him to just die and hangs up on Walter; Walter is just completely shocked. He calls another number right after and it’s the D.E.A. wanting to ask about the Walter White investigation; Walter then hangs up and takes a drink at the bar. He’s watching the TV and sees his old friends in an interview; thinking that having a meth king pin being the founder of his company. They asks about Walter’s contribution and his wife says all he did was make the name; Walter looks really pissed off. The question about Walter still being out there and they say that Walter is probably not out there anymore because the man he once was is gone; Walter looks beyond angry. A bunch of police come to the bar which Walter was sitting in and barge in with guns; all that is left of Walter is his drink that he never touched.
