I think we’ve pretty well established by now that Camilla Parker-Bowles hates anything that reminds her of Princess Diana. So you can imagine her reaction when she found out that Middleton and Prince William were ready to move into Kensington Palace. I think she probably hoped that the re-model job wouldn’t be ready in time, and they would decide to live somewhere else permanently. Alas, that did not happen and Kate and Will will be moving into the home that once belonged to her arch-enemy [in her mind], Diana.
A source for Hollywood Life says that Kate and Will are ecstatic about their big move, explaining, “They can’t wait. They are so looking forward to getting the place how they want it and being settled.”
So far, Kate, Will, and little Prince George have already lived in multiple residences. Beginning with Kate’s family home at Bucklebury, they then went to Wales and then Balmoral. Now they’ve finally gotten a chance to settle down and without steady jobs to keep them away, I can imagine that Kate and Will will cherish the time they will be spending with their son as he grows up.
Of course, I can imagine Camilla somehow trying to plot a way for them to leave Kensington, but I doubt they will. In addition to being the ‘official’ residence for the royals, there’s also the fact that Will grew up here when he was younger and there are a lot of fond memories he has regarding his mother and his own childhood. Why would he give that up on the whims of his jealous stepmother?
