CDL Exclusive: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Fall Colour 2013 Launch #NYFW

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics kicked off  NYFW with the launch of their Fall Colour Collection, held at Norwood (a members-only arts club!) 1920’s cabaret performer, Calpernia Addams, who is the face of the fall colour collection made an appearance and private performance.  Celeb Dirty Laundry was honored to be invited to the event.

What’s the worst thing to be caught outside wearing? That’s right, Clown Makeup. If it was underwear then you could somehow turn that around into a look but unless your performing on stage at at the circus, no one can pull off looking a relative of Bo Bo the clown. Luckily the new fall colors have shown up and word is to put away that bright shade of pink and it’s other neon cousins. This season people are going dark.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, our favorite 100% vegan and cruelty-free make up brand, have come out with their Modercraft Line. Inspired by some of the fiercest flappers around, “modercraft will transport transport you back to to the cabarets of the 1920s with a colour collection that echoes the aesthetic innovation and cultural liberation of Weimar Berlin with a distinctly contemporary execution in vibe and textures. “In six new shades of Lip Tar, we all now can experience leaving our own print on the world.

Last night I tried Deep Maroon with Red Pearl. It was one of the metallics in the first collection to carry all three finishes: Metallic, Original Matte, and Stained Gloss. I have to say I’ve never been one for a strong lip. I’m usually light chap-stick and lip gloss. Yet after seeing their spokeswoman Calpernia Adams carry it off flawlessly; I figured why not.

Word of advice – do be careful when applying. All you need is a little then allow your brush to do the spreading and wide strokes. That why, when you give everyone a courteous kiss on the cheek you won’t  be leaving a map of “I was here” all about town. It is Lip Tar but it has the pigmentation of Lip Stick. Be careful about leaving evidence on things or people you’d rather not remember. Good Luck my modern day flappers.
