Garrett Hedlund smartly avoided getting cast in Fifty Shades of Grey, citing scheduling reasons. At the time, everyone thought he was making that up as an excuse to turn down the Fifty Shades films, but it turns out he was actually telling the truth. It was reported earlier this week that Garrett has been cast in Angelina Jolie‘s next film Unbroken. Mind you look at the resemblance of Garret to Charlie Hunnam
The film already stars Jack O’Connell in the lead role of Louis Zamperini, and it looks like she’s focusing on bringing A-list actors to the supporting cast. Of course, because of the resemblance between Garrett and Brad Pitt [who actually played cousins in Troy], people are already assuming that Angelina just hired Garrett because of his looks and because he reminded her of Brad. However, official reports state that Garrett was the one who actively pursued the role, and he was always interested in Zamperini’s story and history.
See, no matter how many times the tabloids and rumor-mongers have said that Angelina will cheat on Brad, they’ve been wrong every single time. It’s been over ten years since they first got together, and they’ve managed to stay together without any personal scandals – discounting the tabloids’ made up love triangle with Jennifer Aniston. So I doubt a 20-something actor with a passing resemblance to Brad will break them up.
But if it somehow did happen, can you imagine the meltdown that would ensue? It would be even crazier than the Jolie-Pitt-Aniston tabloid mess of the mid-2000s.
