Gwyneth Paltrow has been quite busy lately. In addition to promoting her ridiculous cookbook, ‘It’s All Good’ [to which we reply, no it’s not], she’s been promoting her upcoming role as Pepper Potts in Iron Man 3. She covers the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar and there are quite a lot of gems in the accompanying interview.
For one thing, Gwyneth reveals that she’s tried Botox. Ah, see, my respect for her just grew tenfold. Most celebrities would NEVER admit that they’ve tried any form of plastic surgery, much less one that’s as frowned up as Botox. However, Gwyneth also says that she will never do Botox again, because it made her look like Joan Rivers. She explains, “I’ve probably tried everything. I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!”
Ok, for one thing – you don’t do Botox once and end up looking like Joan Rivers. That takes years of messing with your face, multiple nose jobs, and multiple lip and cheek injections. Botox on it’s own – well, you don’t need to look further than Nicole Kidman to see what it does to your face. Of course, Gwyneth could hardly use Nicole as an example when Nicole herself will barely admit to using Botox, can she? So she went extreme and compared herself to Rivers. Now, that’s admirable that she admitted that she used Botox before – but the fact that she says she will never use it again, well – that’s BS.
As she herself says, let’s talk to her when she’s 50. Celebrities in Hollywood have a hard enough time maintaining their career by trying to stay skinny, to say nothing of the pressure on them to look young. Gwyneth even hints to the fact that she might stop making movies, instead focusing on her family, having another child, possibly get into more business ventures. Then, we’ll be subject to more non-stop promotional tours like the one we just got for ‘It’s All Good.’
