Halle Berry is Pregnant! Everyone should be happy but are they? Amidst all the pregnancy joy and knitting; did someone forget that they didn’t want to raise a child in the US? How is that going to work when Halle’s fiancée, Olivier Martinez, was already to pack up and return to France; with or without her?
It was in early February, that here at CDL, we reported Halle and Olivier’s relationship had begun to go sour. They were living nearly separately after the judge Halle’s custody situation had resolved in her staying in the states. She infamously lost her custody battle over her eldest when she tried to move with Little Nahla to France. Coincidently it’s where Olivier just happens to live. The judge saw through her supposed maternal instincts in trying to remove a child from her father and ordered to stay in the states.
Technically Halle’s prime reason for trying to move to France was because she didn’t like the media attention on her daughter. France has very strict laws and regulations against media intrusion. The judge told her she could move to a different state. Olivier was so angry about the order that he took it out on Nahla’s dad, Gabriel Aubry. Gabriel coming off worse for wear did manage the situation to his advantage though. After the fight that both parties supposedly started, Gabriel got a better custody deal than the one he had pre-France.
Since then, Olivier has taken every opportunity he could to return to his homeland. His most recent act of violence, by that I mean this past week, where he attacked photographers for taking pictures of the family returning to LA even had Halle yelling “Olivier, NO!”.
Within days of the altercation Olivier flew back to France. Check out below pictures of a semi-smiling Olivier in LAX airport going home… the day before the pregnancy announcement. He hates the U.S. so much that he didn’t want to stay around his baby mama? So despite Halle making claims that she’ll move to Paris when her daughter is 18, she might not have to.
‘It probably won’t be until my daughter is 18 and off to college. When Nahla turns 18, she’ll be legally able to make her own decisions about where she wants to be and I think that then, when she’s off on her own, we’ll move there. It’s where I want to end my days, that’s for sure.’
Upon hearing this quote several weeks ago, many others and I included thought “would she and Olivier still be together in 13 yrs?” We all thought it was wishful thinking on her part. Until the baby news. Now it’s just the oldest trick in the book.
He wants to leave at any opportunity he can but this baby will be his first born. Can he still leave? My money is on yes but you never know. If these two do break up then Halle will only find herself at another custody dispute. What could she tell a judge in that instance? If she tries to say France isn’t safe; there are now legal documents and interviews to call bull. Particularly when she tried to pull the same stunt but is now having a baby in the dangerous US of A.
Kelly Rutherford had her American born children taken away to France after her divorce, Halle better find a way to make Olivier like the US and quickly.
