Hell’s Kitchen RECAP 6/13/13: Season 11 “6 Chefs Compete”

Tonight on FOX our favorite Chef Gordon Ramsey returns with a new episode of HELL’S KITCHEN called, “6 Chefs Compete.” On tonight’s show the teams must prepare three entrees in a culinary relay race. With the end in sight, HELL’S KITCHEN goes nuclear. Who will crack? Who will survive?  Did you watch last week’s episode? We did and we recapped it here for you!

On last week’s show in the continuation of the signature dish challenge, Chef Ramsay determined which chef has made the greatest strides in the competition, and the chef with the best dish earns immunity in the next dinner service. Later, pressure mounted in HELL’S KITCHEN as the chefs had to prepare a stunning meal to impress very special guests dining at Chef’s Tables, TV host Maria Menounos and actor Jeremy Sisto. Dinner service got off to a strong start, but one team’s service quickly headed downhill, forcing Chef Ramsay to step in at one station. Two members from the losing team went head-to-head in an emotional elimination round.  At the end of the show Anthony was sent home.

Chef Ramsay tests the remaining six contestants’ ability to communicate and work in sync during a three entrée relay race. Each team will have 30 minutes to prepare three dishes with one chef in the kitchen at a time. The winning team enjoys a helicopter tour and an exquisite caviar tasting, while the losing team is punished with backbreaking work peeling potatoes in HELL’S KITCHEN. Later, both teams please Chef Ramsay during dinner service but with coveted black jackets at stake, one more chef must go home for good.

Tonight’s episode are going to be another drama packed ones, which you won’t want to miss. So be sure to tune in for our live coverage of FOX’s Hell Kitchen Season 11 “6 Chefs Compete” tonight at 8PM EST!  Find out whose dreams of winning HELL’S KITCHEN might go up in flames.

Chef bids all the contestants goodnight.  Jon does not think the Red Team knows what the red team did by choosing Ja’nel to go on the Blue Team.  The Blue Team is convinced the Red Team has no chance now.

With the new team dynamics some of the members want to redeem themselves.  The Red Team has won 10 challenges this season and the Blue team 1.

Chef introduces Chef Jon and Owen who work in perfect sync.  The two chefs start to juggle knifes on fire.  The contestants are nervous they will have to do the same thing.  We then learn Jon and Owen are not chefs but they work in teamwork.

This challenge is all about communication and team work.  It is the 3 entree relay.  The teams have 30 minutes and only one Chef in kitchen for 5 minutes at a time. They have 15 seconds to communicate with each other.  The team with the most  accurate entrees win the prize.

The Red Team is doing well, and the Blue Team as usual is not.  It is not good some of the food is raw.

Chef Ramsay starts with the Lamb – No one gets the point.

Chicken – Point to Blue Team

Halibut – Blue Team

The Blue Team wins the challenge.  They are in for an amazing treat – they are getting an exclusive tour of LA in a helicopter.  Then they are going to the Gilette Ranch where they will indulge in caviar.

The Red Team had an absolute meltdown – they are in for a very long day – a truck load of potatoe and onions is coming in that they have to prepare for the LA mission.  They they have to prep the kitchen for service.

Cyndi is having trouble breathing they call a medic, the work is too much for her.

The Blue Team have arrived at Gillette Ranch for their caviar.

Cyndi comes back into the kitchen to continue the challenge.

The Blue Team comes back and brags about their day.

Both teams now have to focus for service.  Chef Ramsay wants the remaining contestants to show him they deserve a black jacket.  Hell’s Kitchen is fully booked.  Tonight is a pivotal dinner service.

The Blue Team is doing better tonight, Ja’nel and Jon are doing well.  Zack is having a few problems.

The Read Team  is doing fine Susan delivers a great risotto.

Both teams are delivering their appetizers on time.

Zack is eager to impress – but Chef points out that Zack’s meet is burning.

Cyndi starts cooking the fish before they finish the appetizers and Chef has a meltdown.

The Blue Team pushes out their last appetizers and now they are on to the entrees.

Over in the Red Kitchen, they are still trying to get their final appetizers to the pass.  Yikes!  Cyndi serves up over cooked lobster and Chef has a meltdown and throws the lobster.  Susan delivers another lobster and it is raw and ice-cold.  Chef calls the Red Team out of the kitchen and asks them what is happening?

They get back to the kitchen and Cyndi finally gets her lobster out.

Over in the Blue Kitchen Zack is struggling.  He is not communicating with anyone and is out of sync with his team.

Over at the Red Team they have started their entrees.  Cyndi is looking to redeem herself on the fish station.  The Red Team is bouncing back.

It looks like Zack has found his groove.  He is bragging how no one can cook meet like him.  Famous last words, Chef rejects his lamb which is raw.

Chef Ramsay has a meltdown at Zack and tells him if he cannot get it right he is out.

In the Red Team they are on their last ticket – the ladies are done – their service is complete.

For the Blue Team to deliver Zack must deliver the final rack of lamb.  It is perfectly cooked and the Blue Team is finished.

Chef Ramsay congratulates the teams.  He tells the teams they both have won, but he will only be giving out 4 black jackets, so one member of each team is going.  The teams each have to nominate one contestant.

NOMINATIONS

The Blue Team nominates Zack – because during the dinner service their were issues with the lamb.

The Red Team nominates Cyndi – the team feels she should know better because of her experience.  Chef Ramsay is shocked at Cyndi being nominated.  The women then change their mind and put Susan up.

Chef Ramsay decides Zack’s journey has ended.  Chef sends Susan back in line.  He tells the remaining 5 there is one more thing they have to do before he hands out the black jackets.

THE END!!
