Man, I feel like Ian Somerhalder’s unofficial ‘audition’ for Fifty Shades of Grey has kicked into high gear. He’s already viewed as a sex symbol from the Vampire Diaries, so what’s with the endless smoldering photoshoots and the pillow talk?
In the latest issue of Women’s Health Magazine, Ian opens up about his love life. While he doesn’t talk about his split with ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev, he does talk about what he looks for in women. When asked how he would want a woman to seduce him, he says, “With dancing. When someone can dance or you have rhythm with someone, it’s really sexy.”
He also talks about how to handle heartbreak [hint hint], saying, “There are a million ways to handle it. You have wine, you have exercise, you have meditation, you have friends. You know, friends can be your meditation.” And then, when he’s asked whether he prefers lingerie or naked, he says, “Lingerie…but when it’s off, crumpled up on the floor.”
Hmm…again, this whole interview seemed like another ploy for Fifty Shades of Grey to me. But that being said, others are seeing it as a slight dig against Nina. Here he is, not months from their breakup, and he’s talking about what he wants in a girlfriend. Too soon? I mean, is he trying to say that she didn’t match up to his standards in bed, and that’s why he broke up with her? Other than the Fifty Shades angle, I’m not sure what he’s trying to do here.
