Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are getting married. What?!? The Vampire Diaries couple are married already and not to each other. They are married to stardom and celebrity, not to say fame whoring. Ian and Nina know how to play the social media game as well or better than anyone. They have ridden their leading roles on a silly adolescent television show to remarkable levels of fame and fortune, especially given their relatively minimal accomplishments in the entertainment industry.
Nina can act. I grant her that after been forced to watch several episodes of the ridiculous Vampire Diaries series. Ian, on the hand, is a ham of truly remarkable proportions – he plays one role, the smarmy pseudo-macho dilettante, whom women mysteriously seem to find extremely attractive, at least based on polls and all the Fifty Shades of Grey buzz. In any case, if you’re reading this post you probably also love Ian so I better shut up and get on with the story.
Nina is vacationing China with her partner and wanted to be sure to stay relevant to her many fans. So what better way than to announce, “I’m getting married!!!!!!!!,” on the medium of every blabbermouth, Twitter. Now our girl knew that this would not go unnoticed and she was correct.
Of course this was followed by the disclaimer, “He’s orange … And soft… And we’ll be together forever. Match made in heaven… IM IN HEAVEN.” Cute…
I’m not saying that Nina and Ian’s relationship is as contrived as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s but I am saying to look at business end of the relationship, and I don’t mean that business end, you voyeurs! Let’s be clear that as far as the success of both their show and individual careers go, Elana and Damon, I mean Nina and Ian, could not possibly improve upon their choice of each other as lovers. Do you believe that all Hollywood romance is real? Is Delena for real or am I just a cynic?
