Say it ain’t so! Ian Somerhalder may be one of the hottest actors in the industry right now, but that doesn’t mean he’s fully committed to acting! The fan favorite for Christian Grey in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation is seriously busy—he’s a backer for RYOT News, has a foundation, is all over the country doing political, environmental work, stars on The Vampire Diaries, and has a girlfriend! You’d think his work load had reached mass capacity, but the green star has found a new passion, and is clearing his schedule to address it.
Ian shared a picture of his lunch on Instagram, adding, “Damon catching a bite of Pho alone on a rooftop in between scenes. Styrofoam is NO good. I’m going to create a company that makes biodegradable/insulating take out food containers. For those of you want them, they’re coming!” The guy has taken the whole “be the change you wish to see in the world” philosophy to heart, and doesn’t seem to be slowing down! So the guy is adding yet another business to his resume—which is great for the environment. But what will this mean for Fifty Shades?
As a major Ian fan, I feel inclined to point out that there are dozens of BPA-free Tupperware brands out there. Why go biodegradable when you can go reusable? Or maybe he could make a movement for take-out places to go BYOT (bring your own Tupperware)? I appreciate the sentiment of his new venture, but only so long as it doesn’t interfere with his acting future! We may have to face the sad truth that Ian won’t be starring as Christian, so who makes a good back up? Do you think the world needs biodegradable, insulating take out food containers?
Editors Note: Is Ian biodegrable? He certainly appears to be reusable. Do you buy his environmentalist-animal-and-planet-loving hype? Or, like me, are you convinced he is all about IAN and establishing his brand?
