James Franco and Howard Stern Hate Anne Hathaway – But At Least SHE Can Act!

Will you look at that? It’s the two people that the Internet loves to hate the most. In a new interview with Howard Stern, the all-knowing James Franco has decided to deign to discuss the recent post-Oscars Anne Hathaway hate, dubbed ‘Hatha-hate’.

To his credit, he doesn’t bring it up, but is rather brought into the topic rather uncomfortable by Howard Stern. Of course, Stern is known for that, so it’s really not that much of a surprise. Stern first asks, “Everyone sort of hates Anne Hathaway, and I’ve explained that I do too and I don’t know even know why sometimes.  She’s just so affected [and] actress-y that even when she wins an award she’s out of breath, and then she has the standard joke that sounds like it’s [been] written [for her]. And it all seems so scripted and acted. She comes off like the goody two-shoes actress and it’s just fun to sort of hate her. Hate is a strong word . . . but [I] dislike her, even though she is a great actress. Is that accurate?”

James stutters and mutters, and eventually agrees, saying, “I’m not an expert on — I guess they’re called ‘Hatha-haters’– but I think that’s what maybe triggers it.” Wow! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Not only that, but he has the audacity to talk about their disastrous Oscar hosting together, making it sound like she was the one who came begging to become friends with him again, instead of the other way around.

When Stern follows up his statement by asking, “Are you still friendly with her?”, Franco replies, We haven’t talked in a while.” But he’s also quick to add, “Anne and I made up, by the way. Let’s just get that on the record. It was a really hard time after the Oscars. She wasn’t mad at me, I don’t think . . . she didn’t say she was mad at me for what happened . . . The critics were so nasty.”

Way to bring this whole topic back into ‘Pity me’ territory, Franco. And by the way, I doubt she’s not mad at you anymore, especially as you couldn’t even have her back with the simplest ‘Yeah, she’s good actress, but people seem to hate her’ quote, even when she never outright said anything bad about you after you literally abandoned her at the Oscars.

Is this what the world has descended to? CDL defending Anne Hathaway? If it’s a choice between Anne Hathaway and James Franco, we go Anne anytime. At least she doesn’t cover up her sanctimonious judging with hypocrisy and so-called ‘intellect’.
