Deciding to have a baby is a huge step in any couple’s life so it’s not too surprising that The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons had to think long and hard about becoming a father. The actor has spent the last ten years in a relationship with Todd Spiewak but dodged the topic of children until recently. According to National Enquirer Todd has wanted the couple to start a family for a long time but Jim wasn’t sure that he could handle the stress and pressure that goes hand-in-hand with fatherhood.
What made Jim decide that maybe it is time to add a new addition to their living situation? Apparently he had a long chat with How I Met Your Mother’s Neil Patrick Harris who has three-year old twins and the actor reassured him that the responsibility is actually worth it in the end. Now Jim and Todd are actively looking for a surrogate mother to help make their baby dream come true.
While Jim has a super busy shooting schedule for his hit CBS show, Todd is an art director with a little more free time on his hands. A baby would require a lot of hands on attention but it seems that Todd would be able to provide it and since he has desperately wanted to start a family I have to think that he would be more than willing to scale back his work schedule. Do you think that they will have a hard time finding the right surrogate? Also perhaps a baby will ultimately solidify Todd and Jim to the point that the opt to make it official and marry don’t you think? Tell us your thoughts on Todd and Jim’s surrogacy plans in the comments below!
