I hate hypocrites. Especially when they’re actors. I detest the whole ‘woe is me, my life is so hard’ speech that most actors give when talking about their lives, and I especially dislike it when actors who are made famous by their private life refuse to discuss said private life.
Take Amber Heard, for example. Let’s face it, who knows Amber Heard for her acting or her career? She’s not a bad actress, but she’s not Emma Stone or Jennifer Lawrence, is she? Really, most people only know her name because she’s dating Johnny Depp. She knows that, we know that, and it’s infuriating when she acts like she’s known for her ‘craft’ or for her acting ability.
In a new issue of Flare Magazine, Amber is asked about Johnny and basically says, “It’s not part of my professional life. I want to be an artist. I don’t want to be a celebrity. You can find pictures of me [on the Internet] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub…Can you ever imagine yourself in a situation like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie or Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, where the world feels like they have a stake in your private life? I would never want it.”
Ok, I have to address the Brangelina and Kimye comparisons. Kim is a reality star, and she invited the attention onto herself. Plus, she calls the paparazzi. So I don’t think that’s a valid comparison. And Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. If they don’t want you to find them or take pictures of them, you will not find them or take pictures of them. They are very well connected, and they are masters of playing the media. Everything they put out to the public is controlled rigidly by them. In fact, they should start their own PR company on how to manage fame. So no, Amber Heard, you and Johnny Depp will never be the Brange.
And honestly, when you date someone like Johnny Depp, let’s not pretend that you’re not famous for your career or ‘art’, ok? It’s a bit ridiculous.
