Our favorite former reality star, Kate Gosselin, never stops entertaining us with her Tweets. Her latest tweets contain a slight air of desperation, but that might be me reading too much into them.
Using a quote from The Notebook, she tweeted, “Hey tweeties, do we have a deal? :) XO RT @Notebook: I promise to stay if you promise to never leave.” Ugh, you know what’s the most offending part of this tweet? The fact that it’s from the Notebook, and the fact that she would compare her relationship with her ‘tweeties’ with Noah’s and Allie’s story in the movie.
First of all, if someone offered Kate money to stop tweeting tomorrow, she would do it. So even though plenty of her fans have promised to stay – which I still can’t comprehend – there’s little to no chance that she will follow through. But you know what – if they had the poor foresight to follow Kate Gosselin, then they had it coming. I mean, this is the same woman who is tweet pimping her eight children on the Internet, and she has also continually uses her children to increase her own public profile. The fact that she has any followers at all is shocking to me, but we live in a world where cheaters, hicks, and teen moms have millions of Twitter followers, so what do I know, right?
In the end, regardless of her promise to her fans, there’s no way she genuinely means that promise. And also, doesn’t it come off as a bit desperate? She’s basically begging them to stay with her if she continues tweeting – is someone a bit worried about her future prospects in the world of reality television? There have been rumors floating around for a few months that Kate is in talks for another reality show, but she has to prove that she still has a sizeable audience to pull that off. What better way to guarantee that audience than to make them promise to continue following her on Twitter?
