Kate Gosselin has taken to Twitter to warn against people pretending to be her own daughters, specifically Mady. She tweeted, “FYI: There are fakers on Instagram pretending to be my girls, specifically Mady..Please know they are FAKERS & don’t follow or pay attention!” Well, I don’t want to sound harsh, but she did bring it on herself.
I have said this many times before, but Kate Gosselin should know better than to bring her children into her Twitter world. I get that she already did that by using them for her reality shows, but after the shows ended, there was no reason for them to be involved in her public profile. Instead, she took to posting about them practically every other day on Twitter, with pictures and everything. She also insists on letting them post on her public website, and she hasn’t ceased posting pictures of all of her kids on her website as well. Obviously, when you’re such a public figure – especially on the Internet – your kids will also become targets.
Considering that Kate doesn’t let her children on Twitter [the one smart thing she did, in my opinion], then obviously there will be posers and pretenders. When there is such a glut of information available on the children, including pictures, it’s easy access and research for anyone who wants to pretend to be them.
While I definitely feel bad for the children in this case, considering that no child should have to go through this, it is Kate’s fault for putting her children on the Internet in the first place. If they want to post and put up pictures, that’s their prerogative, and they should be able to do privately. Instead, Kate lets them post and puts up pictures on her site, which gets thousands of viewers daily. Of course you’re going to have Twitter posers. Like, duh.
