Usually brides only have to worry about Pippa Middleton and her nasty hats and tight dresses upstaging them at their weddings but this past weekend Kate Middleton’s baby drama managed to steal the attention. In a odd sort of coincidental events, a RAF search and rescue helicopter hovered extremely low over the castle housing the Thomas van Straubenzee wedding on Saturday. Prince William was there with Prince Harry but Kate was absent because she was afraid to travel the 300 miles under her condition. It’s been rumored that Prince William’s emergency plan for a premature labor is to have a helicopter on standby.
But it all turned out to be a false alarm. Kate Middleton was probably in London happily shopping during the nuptials. But that doesn’t quite explain the bizarre behavior of the pilot. The Telegraph reports the helicopter was returning to its base four miles away after attending an emergency in the Lake District but that doesn’t explain why onlookers said it circled the castle. Why would it dawdle if it needed to get back? Did Kate and William get trigger happy? I’m guessing no. That wedding was a huge ass spectacle. I’m sure the pilot got curious and circled because he wanted to see what all the commotion was about. Still, probably not the best thing to do when the world is on labor alert.
Do you think William will end up needing a flight to catch the birth of his first kid? It’s been said he’s trying to keep close to Kate during this last month so he doesn’t miss anything but he technically is still working in Anglesea so anything’s possible. I bet he will have to fly in but it’s not a big deal. It won’t take that long and first births usually last longer so he’ll have plenty of time to get there.
