Royal baby name enthusiasts, unite. It’s time to play the name guessing game. The future royal heir of England arrived yesterday afternoon, born at 4:24 London Time, at the Lindo wing in St. Mary’s hospital. We know pretty much every detail about the royal baby except for his name.
When Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped out on the stairs of St. Mary’s, they briefly mentioned that they hadn’t yet named the baby because they were still thinking about options. Bookmakers all over the world have been placing bets on what the name will be, and the most popular answers seem to be the typical royal names: Alexander, Harry, Charles, Arthur, Louis, Henry, Philip, and Richard.
Considering that the boy has been born as the Prince of Cambridge, it’s likely that he’ll have a middle name as well, which sources are saying might be Charles.
Now, although Will and Kate are insistent on the fact that they haven’t yet named the boy, there are some people who don’t necessarily believe that. That’s largely because even if the boy hasn’t ‘officially’ been named, there has to be something on the birth certificate, and I don’t think his parents and grandparents are calling him ‘Royal Baby’ like the rest of us plebeians.
There are some sources close to the Middletons that say that Kate and William had already decided on a name for a boy, but they’re running it by Queen Elizabeth before announcing it to the world. In that case, we might be hearing as early as tomorrow, since Kate and William were on their way to introduce the baby to her earlier today.
