Kate Middleton is days or hours away from going into labor, and everyone connected to the royal baby is all in a dither about the impending birth. But is the baby birth causing friction between the Middleton family and the royals?
Well, we’ve covered this before, and the resounding answer seems to be yes. And according to the latest issue of Star Magazine, the feud’s not ending any time soon. The cover of Star has an article on ‘New Mom Kate’, with the subtitle, ‘Palace Tells Her Mother: Butt Out’.
Harsh? Well, maybe so, but it’s not exactly surprising. Carole Middleton and the royals have gone at it before, and each wants to stake their claim in Royal Baby Cambridge before it’s born. Whether it’s a boy or a girl, the child will be third in line to the throne. Can you imagine trying to raise the future Queen or King of England? The baby’s got good parents, but I’m more worried about the grandparents at this point.
One the one hand, there’s Camilla Parker-Bowles and Prince Charles. Charles barely has any idea what’s going on, but Camilla seems to desperately be trying to attach herself to the baby. And then you have Queen Elizabeth, who is obviously the Queen. And then on Kate’s side, you have Carole Middleton. You can bet she’s not leaving the delivery room when Kate does give birth.
Either way, it’s not surprising that the royals want Carole to butt out. Even though she’s the baby’s grandmother, this is the royal baby we’re talking about. They’re not going to let non-royals dictate anything important, which may be sad and unfair, but when it comes to monarchy, most things are sad and unfair.
