According to TMZ, Kendall Jenner will be presenting at the American Music Awards this Sunday, and this will mark her first time stepping into the crazy world of hosting and presenting at major awards shows.
So what got her this gig? It’s not like she’s done anything to deserve it. She’s not a musical talent, and her name recognition only comes from the fact that she’s been a part of the Kardashian-Jenner axis of evil. However, her revealing Instagram picture last week [conveniently right after she turned 18 years old] got the entire Internet buzzing, and it’s possible that the AMA show executives picked up on that and decided that they wanted to capitalize on that buzz.
What other reasons would they have for giving a reality star with no discernible talent related to the AMAs a presenting gig? Usually, the presenters at music awards are musicians or celebrities that are connected to the music scene in some way. Sure, you could argue the very tenuous connection of Kendall’s half-sister being engaged to Kanye West, but is that enough? If that’s the case, why haven’t Khloe and Kourtney been asked to present more?
No, this is simply a case of discrimination based on aesthetic and looks. Kendall’s easily the best looking sister out of that family, and now that she’s ‘of age’, Kris Jenner is trying to make her the next big thing. And I wouldn’t be surprised if she paid off someone involved with the AMAs to put Kendall’s name on the presenting list.
Kendall will be presenting Best Pop Rock album, and two the nominees include Taylor Swift and One Direction. Since Kendall’s presumably dating Harry Styles from 1D, we all know one thing for sure: DRAMAAAA.
