Every once in awhile if you tune into a show like Keeping Up With the Kardashians a real moment finds it way onscreen. By real I mean it’s not scripted and no one saw it coming and they probably expected it to land on the cutting room floor but somehow it didn’t. On last night’s episode Kourtney Kardashian was a bit jealous over all of the attention that her knocked up sister, Kim Kardashian was receiving.
Kim decides to move in with Kris Jenner for the first month of her foray into motherhood and the gang is helping to move boxes in. Kris is gushing over how good it’ll be to have the new baby there where she can be around it all the time and help. Scott Disick has also been going above and beyond to help Kim, probably because Kanye West is MIA, of course, and he feels bad for her. Scott and Kris both call Kourtney on her bratty behavior and in that moment Scott looks Kris dead in the eyes and says, “You know she insists that you didn’t raise her.”
Bam. It has been rumored, and in some instances proven, that Kris wasn’t exactly the most involved mother when her older girls were young because she was too busy throwing back martini’s and looking for her next side piece while her husband burned the midnight oil earning a living. Kris looks like a deer in headlights and then they proceed as if the sentence was never uttered. In any other family that would have led to one hell of a real conversation but in the Kardashian’s altered sense of reality they needed to play like it didn’t happen!
Kourtney has supported her mother in recent months and even gone as far as to deny a lot of the media’s claims that Kris was often missing from her children’s lives, but she kind of has to in order to keep the family business looking united. Leave it to Scott to throw a minute of reality into the mix and maybe it made it into the episode because the producers were happy to get something that rang true!
