Leah Remini Quits Scientology After Daring to Question Church Leader David Miscavige!

Leah Remini, perhaps most known for her role on King of Queens, has reportedly quit the Church of Scientology after years of being allegedly subjected to elaborate interrogations and attempted thought modifications. Apparently, she was subjected to these crazy methods because she dared to question certain practices and philosophies established by the Church of Scientology’s head David Miscavige.

According to the New York Post, “The source tells us Remini is quitting because of policies that don’t allow parishioners to question Miscavige’s management or the reported abuse of members of its Sea Org religious order — and for forcing followers to “disconnect” from family members branded as “suppressive persons” if they choose to leave the church.”

Apparently, while at Tom Cruise’s wedding in 2006, Remini asked in an innocent manner where Mrs. Miscavige was. Well, as you can imagine, that little exchange didn’t end well. Former leader Tommy David allegedly fired off on her, saying, “You don’t have the [bleeping] rank to ask about Shelly,” who hasn’t been seen in public in nearly five years.

The source for the post claims that the actress “was put through interrogations and blacklisted within the church that she donated millions to and that her family has spent their lives in. She was put through ‘thought modification’ for five years.”

This entire situation seems a bit drastic and definitely adds to the general mystique surrounding these conversations involving Scientology.

Allegedly, Remini is considering taking her experiences and information public, ready to out the Church for what she claims it really is, especially “when she sees what the church tries to do. She has heard they use people to scare you into silence.”

NY Post reached out to Scientology representatives; however, surprise surprise, nobody responded to comment.

Editor’s Update July 13, 2013 – CDL received an email request regarding this story from The Church of Scientology in which they state: In relation to Ms. Remini: The Church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no further comment. The allegations of “interrogations” and “thought modification” are absurd and pure nonsense, as are all the statements made about the Church’s leader, Mr. David Miscavige. Under the 25-year leadership of Mr. Miscavige, following in the footsteps of our Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, the Church is enjoying tremendous expansion as shown in our new Churches opening in six continents and the many new parishioners joining their congregations.

The Church also mentioned in the email that Mrs. Miscavige is not missing and “Mrs. Miscavige has been working non-stop in the Church, as she always has.”
