It was announced that Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas have decided to take some time apart and ‘evaluate their marriage‘. That’s publicist speak for either someone cheated on someone, or they’re going to divorce soon but wanted to break it to the public in stages. Of course, it’s not a sure thing and they could prove us all wrong by getting back together in the next few weeks [or months].
See, they could have easily separated without making a statement about it, right? Of course, that would invite a lot of speculation and rumor mongering, but that’s nothing different to what’s been going on already. So what finally caused this official separation? Was it all his talk of STDs? Did she finally realize that she wanted to date somebody her own age, and she just waited because he was sick? I know it’s horrible and harsh to think that, but it’s not like that doesn’t happen, especially in a place like Hollywood.
I do have to say that both Michael and Catherine have great reputations in the industry, but not-so-great reputations outside the industry. That being said, who are they going to end up with next? Catherine is still incredibly beautiful and there’ll be plenty of men waiting to take her out. But Michael? Poor Michael might end up with another gold digger.
