Every celeb seems to eventually write a book so I’m not too shocked that even Mike Tyson is peddling his own story (obviously ghostwritten). Undisputed Truth, Iron Mike is the boxing champ’s explanation of how his life turned into a series of screw-ups and mistakes. According to the Nov. 18th print edition of GLOBE magazine Mike is taking aim at Robin Givens, whom he married in Feb. of 1988. Mike claims that his marriage to the sitcom star was about money and little else. To hear him tell it, Robin’s mother Ruth had been on the prowl for a rich black man for her daughter to marry and at the time Mike fit the bill. The couple’s first date included her mother and publicist but Mike still wasn’t suspicious of anything. Nobody said Mike was smart, right?
He married Robin thinking that she was pregnant and within a few months she claimed to miscarry, a situation that Mike now disputes. He says that they were supposedly married when Robin was 3 months pregnant but by June she still hadn’t gained a pound and claimed to have miscarried. In the meantime Mike had dropped $5 million on a spacious estate and had also opened a $10 million account for Robin and Ruth to use as they liked.
According to GLOBE, when Mike looks back he can see pretty clearly that he was totally used for the cash. Ironically, even back then his nickname for Robin’s mother was “Ruth-less.” All in all, Mike ended up handing over $20 million in cash to Robin just to put an end to their year long marriage. Do you think that he was set up? If she was supposed to be 3 months pregnant in Feb. and hadn’t gained an ounce by the time of her “miscarriage” in June, well that’s pretty shady, right?
