While VH1’s show Mob Wives has provided three seasons of entertainment for a pretty large viewing audience, you have to remember that each of these chicks brings serious mob ties to the table. With those ties comes an inevitable host of legal issues and police charges. This time around it’s Alicia DiMichele Garofalo that is having a serious case of nerves as her sentencing date approaches. Alicia was arrested last year on fraud and embezzlement charges in connection with a trucking company that she ran alongside of her husband, Edward “Tall Guy” Garofalo. He is currently in prison and Alicia plead guilty to her charges.
According to Radar Online she was supposed to have been sentenced on Nov. 25th but the hearing was postponed until Jan. 6th. She basically is at the mercy of the judge in terms of sentencing and she could face anything from house arrest to 2 years in prison. In spite of her mob ties Alicia insists that she’s not a criminal and has never so much as jay walked. I think that’s a little bit of a stretch, but nonetheless Alicia says she has suffered from anxiety since she was a child and fears the thought of being locked in a prison cell.
Even if you are an honest person that tries to avoid trouble, don’t you think that at some point common sense should tell you that being married to a mob guy is probably, ultimately get you in trouble too? Do you believe that Alicia is as innocent as she tries to claim? Or did she just end up tangled in the family business until it ultimately took her down too?
