NASHVILLE returns to ABC tonight with a new episode called, “When You’re Tired of Breaking Other Hearts.” On tonight’s show Katie Couric guest st. When Rayna appears on the “Katie” show to talk about her failed marriage. Did you watch last week’s episode? We did and we recapped it here for you!
On last week’s show Juliette planed a surprise birthday party for Deacon, which was attended by real-life country stars Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Vince Gill, Pam Tillis, Kate York and Kip Moore. During the celebration, Rayna sang, backed up by Pam Tillis and Kate York as themselves, Watty White (JD Souther) and Adria (Erin McCarley). However, Juliette’s own performance was derailed by her mother.
On tonight’s show Katie Couric guest stars as herself when Rayna appears on the “Katie” show, trying to set the record straight about her marriage and balancing her career with motherhood. Juliette attempts to take her album launch into her own hands but it backfires when she tweets out a surprise concert location. Maddie lies to Teddy about her whereabouts — with dangerous consequences — and Deacon is drawn to his dog’s pretty new veterinarian, Stacey. Meanshile Avery tries to control his musical destiny by flouting Dominic and Marilyn, and things are awkward between Scarlett and Gunnar, as he continues to process his brother’s death.
Gunnar finally returns to Scarlett and she’s furious that he blew off the audition but frankly, he could care less. His brother is dead and no one cares to investigate it. The police are acting like he was just another junkie and insignificance. At the hospital Rayna and Teddy are sitting waiting for info on Maddie. Rayna wants to cancel her trip and to stay at the house. Teddy refuses and tells her she needs to hit the bricks, he can take care of their kid. Juliette is really upset that her tweet about the surprise show caused such a frenzy. Well, ok maybe she’s not but she’s at least phased when Rayna calls and yells at her for taking responsibility for hurting those around her.
Gunnar is on a mission to find out what happened to his brother. He heads to the bar to learn whatever the cops aren’t but Scarlett and Deacon stop him outside the place. Deacon tells him that he gets it because he once made his friend drive drunk and he died because of it.
Guest starring tonight are Katie Couric as herself, Kimberly Williams-Paisley as Peggy Kenter, Susan Misner as Stacey, Wyclef Jean as Dominic King, Sylvia Jeffries as Jolene, Jay Hernandez as Dante Rivas, Maisy Stella as Daphne, Lennon Stella as Maddie, David Alford as Bucky, Kourtney Hansen as Emily, Rya Kihlstedt as Marilyn Rhodes, Todd Truley as Marshall Evans and Aerica D’Amaro as Lindsay.
