Pretty Little Liars RECAP 8/20/13: Season 4 Episode 11 “Bring Down the Hoe”

Tonight on the ABC Family PRETTY LITTLE LIARS continues with the 11th episode of its forth season called, “Bring Down the Hoe.” On tonight’s show The school dance becomes the latest battleground with “A”.  Did you watch last week’s season 4 eighth episode? We did and we recapped it here for you.

On last week’s episode still living at a motel, Emily was taken aback when Mrs. Dilaurentis offered to let her move into Ali’s old room and was even more distraught when the other Liars insisted she take Mrs. D up on her offer. Hanna exploded when it appeared her mother’s recent good fortune had taken a turn for the worse. And Ezra continued to reel from Maggie’s big news when he’s dealt an even more crushing blow regarding his son.

On tonight’s show After uncovering recent evidence that suggest “A” is hiding out closer than they realized, the Liars step up their investigation into their most recent suspect. Hanna continues to crumble due to her newfound infamy as the daughter of a murder suspect. To complicate matters, Hanna is being stalked by fellow student Travis (Luke Kleintank), until she learns he is hiding a secret that may change her life.

Meanwhile, Toby continues to be manipulated by “A,” dangling insight into his mother’s death. And Ezra tries to reach out to Aria for help in dealing with his recent troubles, right when she becomes more determined to move on with Jake (Ryan Guzman), at a Western themed dance that turns into a two-step with “A.”

The shoe. The mysterious muddy shoe found out of nowhere last week was found in Emily’s house. Lt Tanner was trying to push the girls when she told them about the shoe. The only one to take the bait was Hanna who quickly fled the scene. That didn’t look guilty at all.

There’s a hoedown happening at the school tonight. Hanna doesn’t want to go. She wants to focus on her mom and hopefully getting Spencer’s mom back as an attorney. Spencer warns her that won’t be any time soon so they might as well go. Caleb is able to talk her around though. Ashley had called him to make him take Hanna out tonight. She wanted her daughter to have a normal life.

Meanwhile Emily got her recommendation letter from Zoe. She was happy about until Paige read the letter and thought it was too much. Especially for someone that had only known Emily for a summer. Emily denies it but to double check she tried going to Ezra. He turned out to be a little too preoccupied with his own drama.

Wonder how Hanna’s normal life will work with her stalker. That’s right Hanna has a stalker. A mysterious guy who may or may not have left money in her locker for her mom. Who is and why is so intent on helping Hanna?

Later Emily, Spencer, and Aria are in the crawl space that was being used possibly by Cece when they hear someone in the house. They know it can’t be Mrs. DiLaurentis because Hanna is keeping her busy. Whoever it was they knew where the wholes leading to the crawl space where and they continuously stabbed a sharp object through the holes.

It was knitting needles. The girls are discussing the stabbing incident when Spencer walked into the room with a sudden mood change. The other liars have had enough they want to know what’s going with her and Toby. No more excuses. Spencer has no choice but to tell them. She knows deep down that Toby is willing to do anything to find out the truth about his mom. He’ll even play besties with “A”.

Emily had remembered something Allison once told her. She said that she helped people break up with out of control boyfriends. All this time the girls thought Wilden had something with Allison but what if he was dating Cece?

The mystery of Cece just get trickier and trickier. She’s alive and well. Also she’s the owner of a red jacket. Is she the one protecting the girls or is she simply another pawn in “A”’s game?

Hanna’s stalker told her he knows her mom is innocent. How exactly? He claims to be a witness to Wilden’s murder. He said he he only heard gunshots go off only after her mom had driven away. He didn’t say anything because he panicked. The money he gave her was the money he found waiting for him. He had left his truck at the scene of the crime. Caleb doesn’t believe this guy’s story. He tells Hanna not to trust Travis but she says she might have to.

Jake and Aria went to the hoedown together. They’re having fun when Jake notices Ezra. He excuse himself from Aria and goes to talk to the other guy. He’s not upset or threatening. All he does is speaks calmly about Ezra needing to let Aria go now. Jake figured out that Ezra didn’t have to chaperone tonight but volunteered. It’s time Ezra picked something interesting for his Friday night instead of trying to watch Aria.

Toby’s obsession is getting out of control. He’s practically stalking a senile doctor. Spencer tried to say she was worried and ended up saying how they all were worried. Toby is hurt that she told her friends. He thinks A won’t help him now that she’s told everyone. He too angry to listen to her concerns and leaves her on the dance floor. She won’t run after him. She knows he won’t talk to her so she sends Caleb instead.
Travis had left the hoedown and Hanna followed him. She does her best to convince him to tell the truth. He goes to Lt. Tanner to report what he saw.

Back at the hoewdown Red Coat has made an appearance. Emily and Spencer try to chase her but the car they were about to steal is too hard to work. They almost got in when Emily saw something moving in the back of the pick-up. They go back there and only find a red coat and not the Red Coat.

Caleb stops Toby from breaking into a car. He’s telling him that “A” set him up when the cops suddenly make an appearance. Spencer was right. “A” had set a trap.
It’s the time of making up. Emily has has too much drama for the night and all she wants to do is dance with Paige. Paige is used to being understanding. While Aria found out about Ezra’s custody matter and she wants to help. She doesn’t know that Cecec is listening in at the door.

However Cece isn’t “A”. No it looks like she just became another enemy of “A”.
