Prince Harry‘s too busy partying, y’all. Actually, to be fair to him, he’s technically too busy doing charity work, which is very commendable. But either way, don’t expect him to have kids or get married anytime soon.
Harry’s currently in Antarctica for his trek to the South Pole, and he’s given an interview about his thoughts on the upcoming journey and his family’s reaction to him on such a dangerous undertaking. He explained that Prince William was jealous of his trip, adding, “My brother, yeah, I think he’s just quite jealous that I managed to get away from a screaming child.”
However, he also adds that the rest of his family wasn’t so calm about the trip, explaining, “My father was a little concerned, but I obviously tried to keep him calm and explain the North Pole was the dangerous one because we’re walking on a frozen ocean whereas this time there are crevasses. But hopefully the guides will take us around that. Apart from frostbite you should be able to look after yourself as long as you just head south.”
It’s interesting to see the relationships in Harry’s life and how they come into play when he makes major decisions. In particular, he only refers to his brother’s and father’s reactions when he decided to go on this [pretty risky] trek, but doesn’t mention his grandmother, his rumored fiance, nor any other family members. I suppose his brother and father are his close family, and everybody would be expecting that answer, but it’s still illuminating.
There’s also the case of Harry being allowed to be far more reckless than William. The expectations on Harry are far less than they are on his poor brother, and that includes raising the heir. Besides, Prince Harry doesn’t seem ready to even get married right now, much less have children. If he got married, who would take his place on his crazy Vegas trips and impromptu party binges? Nobody.
