Prince William Fights With Queen Elizabeth Over Kate Middleton’s Mother, Carole, and He Backs Down

Queen Elizabeth has really loosened up as much protocol as possible in recent months when it comes to Prince William and his family. She realizes that in order for Kate Middleton to be happy and a calm mother to Prince George then that means that her family has to be included. Prince William recently rallied to convince the queen that the Middletons should be included in the traditional holiday celebration at the Sandringham Estate. Carole Middleton has spent a lot of time caring for her grandson and Kate would have been crushed if her mother wasn’t with George for his first Christmas.

While William managed to convince the queen to cave on some things there is one major trip next spring that she refuses to budge on. Prince George will be touring Australia and New Zealand with Kate and William next spring on his first international trip and William asked if Carole could travel with the family to help with the baby. This is where Elizabeth felt it necessary to put her foot down because it’s an official royal engagement and bringing a commoner is simply not done.

According to the Nov. 11th print edition of In Touch William rallied hard but the Queen wasn’t having it. She reminded William of all the times that she has relaxed the rules for him and he agreed that she has been more than generous in allowing the Middleton’s to be as involved with their grandson as possible.

Should the queen have allowed Carole to travel next spring to help out with the baby or is that just one bit of royal protocol that really shouldn’t be broken? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
